Teamsters Local 162 has requested that UPS train more full-time package drivers.  Movement in the feeder operations, facility expansion, retirements, excessive overtime and volume growth, have given rise to the clear need for more package drivers.  The  full-time driver sign up list has plenty of Teamster members available for promotion to the driving ranks. 

After meeting with the UPS labor department on this important issue we are awaiting their promised response.  See the attached letter from Local 162 regarding this matter. 

Coca Cola has done nothing to address concerns from Teamsters Local 162 following the July 9th Decision and Order of the NLRB.  In fact, Local 162 has recently filed numerous Unfair Labor Practice charges against Coca Cola. 

We continue to demand that all superior wages, benefits, hours and working conditions be immediately applied to all employees.  In addition, if any newly accreted employees suffer any reduction in wages and benefits immediately contact Mark Davison at Local 162 so a grievance can be filed.  Grievance forms are located in the downloads section of this webste. 

In addition, memberhip applications were mailed to all newly accreted employees in early August and they must be returned to our office no later than September 7, 2010.  If you did not receive an application in the mail please call Local 162 at 503-257-0162 and request a duplicate application be sent to you.  Our office is also open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. should you wish to take care of your application in person.

Teamsters working at Coca Cola in Western Washington went on strike on August 23, 2010.  The strike involves over 500 Teamster members represented by six Washington area Local Unions.  Click on the below attachment for more information.

The National Labor Relations Board issued a Decision and Order on July 9, 2010 concerning the unit clarification for Coca Cola Teamsters working in the consolidated Wilsonville Distribution Center. 

Local 162 responded by sending a letter to Coca Cola demanding that Coca Cola immediately implement all superior wages and benefits for all employees. See a copy of that letter in the below attachment.
