On May 11th the ballots were counted on the fully recommended contract offer at Swire Coca Cola in Wilsonville. Balloting took place over a three week period and was conducted by mail due to the pandemic.
We are pleased to report that Local 162 members voted in significant numbers to overwhelmingly ratify the new agreement. Rank and file Local 162 members from Swire Coca Cola participated in the ballot count, which took place at the Union hall.
While there are always differences of opinion during the contract ratification process the members have spoken and the contract is ratified. We are Teamster strong and moving forward together as one!
Local 162 has notified the Company that the contract has been ratified and we have requested that the Company now work towards implementing the new provisions of the 4-year contract, including wage increases and retro pay back to April 1st. We will keep our members informed of the progress on contract implementation.
When the contract is proofed and signed we will distribute copies to the membership.
President Mark Davison and Business Agent Mike Mayo chaired the negotiations for the Union. The Union team for the negotiations also included Local 162 members and stewards Stephanie McGinness, Mike Davenport, Kent Teefy, Keith Beck, Zach Olson and Allen Henry. They did a great job representing the members in these negotiations and the Local appreciates their hard work and dedication.
Teamsters Local 162 represents over 350 Teamsters working at Swire Coca Cola in Wilsonville, Oregon, as drivers, warehouse, merchandising, service technicians and cooler movers.
