Local 162 Members at Pepsi Ratify Strong Contract with Historic Gains

Local 162 members at Pepsi Portland ratified a new 4-year contract today. The contract includes the largest economic increases ever negotiated in the soft drink industry in our area, with significant increases to hourly wages, accelerated and shorter progression to top hourly wage rates, hourly pension increases to the Western Conference Pension each year of the contract, and increases to employer health care contributions. Working conditions were also improved with limits on excessive overtime, increases to paid breaks, vacation eligibility and usage were improved, and sick leave and funeral leave improvements. Local 162 President Mark Davison and Business Agent Mike Mayo chaired the negotiations for the Union. We appreciate very much the rank and file members from Pepsi who served on the Union negotiating committee and also thank the entire membership at Pepsi for their unity as we all stuck together to improve the wages, hours and working conditions of our members and their families.
