The 31st Convention of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters took place Monday, June 15th through Thursday, June 18th. During the convention, the O’Brien-Zuckerman Teamsters United 2026 slate were re-elected for another 5-year term of office with 97% of the elected delegates casting ballots in support. None of the opposition candidates met the constitutionally required minimum 5% delegates threshold to trigger a vote of the entire Teamster membership. Teamster Canada candidates ran unopposed at the Convention and were re-elected by acclamation.
Among those elected is Mark Davison, Secretary-Treasurer of Local 162 and President of Teamsters Joint Council 37. Local 162 extends a congratulations to Secretary-Treasurer Davison for being re-elected to the IBT General Executive Board as an International Vice President for a second term. He made history in the 2021 election by being the first Local 162 officer since our 1903 founding to be elected to the IBT General Executive Board. Mark got his start as a rank-and-file Teamster working as a preloader at UPS.
Since the O’Brien-Zuckerman team took office in 2022, they have organized over 100,000 workers, increased strike benefits, bargained and enforced historic contracts for our members, increased our political clout with a bi-partisan platform, and much more.
